An important aspect of Phi Mu is our philanthropy. In our creed, we pledge, "To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand," and "To minister to the needy and unfortunate." Phi Mu has two National Philanthropies; Children's Miracle Network (CMN), which is associated with helping children at Marie Backus Memorial Children's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, and Project H.O.P.E. With these two organizations we spend a great deal of our time and energy helping others. As sisters, we have spent over 3,000 hours
volunteering, and have raised over $11,000 in the 2006-2007 academic school year.

This year Phi Mu hosted our first annual BBQ and Blues. At this event, Phi Mu provided a well known blues band to play for entertainment while guests enjoyed barbeque provided by local restaurants. Fraternities from Georgia Southern were also invited to participate in a BBQ cooking competition. Overall this event turned out to be a successful way to support Children’s Miracle Network and involve other Greek organizations in our Philanthropy events
